Senna with the scientific name of “Senna Alexandria”  is from “Fabaceae” family. This plant automatically grows too much in Africa like as Sudan region and desert, minor Asia , Arabia, Somalia coast and Mozambique. In India, you can find it in Banjab and in Iran in the South parts and Balochistan.

Senna has purgative and laxative effects and it is used to empty the bowel before surgery. In the traditional medicine, it was used as Physic and it was either effective on treatment of  Hemorrhoid.

Senna Botanic properties

It is a Perennial Shrub with the height of 70 centimeters with compound , slightly flattened, ovoid leaves. The flowers of that are yellow willing to bruise. The fruit of that is in the shape of arc pod and curved in size. It is located in about length of Bean pod. Leaf and the fruit of that have medicinal properties.

Chemical compounds and Active ingredients: Reine with Gum, Magnesium solute, A type of sugar, in addition, it has oxy-methyl , AQ, Alamvdyn, Ginsenoosides and   Flavonoids as matters that they are in this plant.

The leave and seeds of Senna use as Laxative in the shape of powder or in the tea . It is also very profitable for the treatment of  Chronic constipation with licorice, Diuretic, Asthma Relief, skin itching, Relieve Anxiety, Hemorrhoid.

Ecological needs:

In the part of Maturity, this plant needs to have heat and sunny weather and it is mostly growing in the Clay and loam soil.

Implant, Have , Removal:

The best time for direct sowing of this plant is from April to May. Before the planting, the seeds of this plant must be scarification then it must be soaked in water for 10-12 minutes. After planting the seed it will be Germination from 3 days later and the Germination will be complete after 14 days. This plant is resistant to salinity at the time of complete maturity. This plant needs 50-100 kilograms Nitrogen, 20-50 kilograms Phosphate, 20-30 kilograms Potash in each Hectare.

Senna is sensitive to excess water and submerged. Watering of Senna is in the mood of  Faroese. The time of harvesting Senna is after planting and when the leaves of the plant grow completely. Originally they are 3 removals that the second one is about 20-30 days after the first removal and the third removal is 20-30 days after the second removal. After removing them they must lie down in the shadow until completely dry. Weeding of weed is necessary for the planting level.

Senna produces about 1400-2200 kg. leave and 200-500 kg. dry fruit in every Hectare.
